I'm just back from four fun-packed days in the Caribbean on P&O's Azura cruise ship. We had a lovely film crew with us, who have put together a video of my trip and I'll post a link here as soon as it's live. It'll feature me snorkelling with turtles in Barbados, zip-lining in St Lucia and kayaking in Antigua!
I was really pleased to be shortlisted in the recent inaugural PSA cruise journalism awards and congratulations to all the winners.
At the moment I am getting ready for my big move to Canada, but I'll be going on a Med cruise and mini-break to Antwerp before I head off for a year.
I have my flight to Vancouver booked for May 11th and in June I'll be travelling up to the Yukon and Northwest Territories. I'll be relaunching my website before I go and also announcing a new blog.

Oh Canada!
Sorry for the silence - I am relocating to Vancouver for a year from May so have been busy sorting out visas in-between writing about Ottawa, the Caribbean and several cruise features for various publications. Good news is that I now have my 12-month working holiday visa for Canada and also have my i-visa for the USA (this just means I can go on press trips there).
Before I head off to my beloved Canada I have some trips to NYC, the Caribbean and the Med, which I'll be writing about on here.
I'm also re-jigging my website at www.amywatkins.com and will be launching a new blog about my life in Canada so watch this space...

Hello stranger!
It's been a busy few months with exotic cruises in Borneo and Patagonia keeping me busy and an up-coming trip to the Philippines to plan for.
While I've been away I've had features published on Canada, SE Asia, New Zealand and a new ship review... links to follow soon.
I've also been shortlisted for two awards; one at the Travel Press Awards (Young Journalist of the Year) and one with the British Annual Canada Travel Awards (Best Media Coverage) - so fingers crossed!

Yukon: larger than life
My last trip was to the amazing Yukon in northwest Canada - I'll post a link to my feature when it's published. I had a great time hiking with huskies, flightseeing over glaciers and attempting to mountain bike through the boreal forest!
While I was away my feature about top romantic cruises was published in the Mail on Sunday.

G'day mate
I'm home from three brilliant weeks in Oz - mainly in the Northern Territory and Western Australia. Highlights were; camping amongst the crocodiles and waterfalls in Kakadu National Park; cruising along the Kimberly coast and stopping at Aboriginal rock art sites, reefs, gorges and horizontal waterfalls; and learning all about the pearling history of beautiful Broome.
While I was away my features about Silversea Silver Spirit and about cruising down the Mekong were published in the Mail on Sunday (see link in portfolio) and also my feature about breadmaking at Eckington Manor was published in BBC Countryfile magazine.
Next Sunday I'm off to Arctic Canada with Cruise North!
